Yo, It’s a B-Roll update!
November 20, 2007
“Okay” here’s the deal. I have lost about 15 pounds over the last month and normally I would say that’s great. What’s difficult now is to battle the mind as we approach the holidays. I can tell you right now that come Thanksgiving Day all bets are off and I plan on eating whatever I want. The trick is not to let one days gorge morph into a weekend and then a week. That has been the situation so I am very familiar with what might happen and what is at stake. I mentioned this because I want you to be able to recognize your danger patterns. One of my struggles does not come from a lack of confidence but rather a mindset of over confidence. Sometimes I get myself into a good pattern that seems to work for me in losing weight and rather than circling the wagons and charging full force on all fronts I tend to open myself to food choices that are outside the safe zone. Has that ever happened to you? Of course it has. Let me tell you something, fat people are the smartest and most resourceful people on the planet. That’s one of the reasons we are the way we are. Confused? Well allow me to elaborate. How quickly can you calculate and justify a reason that will allow you a trip to Krispy Kremes? All I’m saying is don’t outsmart yourself. Think through your choices and make them consciously and don’t just choose blindly. For right now, plan your eating for the coming holiday. Identify the one or maybe two things that you REALLY want and go ahead and have them on Thanksgiving Day. My choices will be cornbread, Jiffy mix cornbread of course, and some completely off the chart sugary dessert probably pound cake. All I want on that day but no take home plates of sweets for the nest day. Anything that doesn’t get done on Thursday, doesn’t get done on Friday. Good luck to all of you and I hope that I’ll be posting some good news very soon.
God bless!
